Dr Sunny Karir (Managing Director)

Sunny holds degrees in Experimental Psychology and Sociology from the University of Oxford. Some of her doctoral findings have recently been published with colleagues from Harvard University. Having taught Oxford undergraduates and worked in various leadership roles, she developed a particular interest in individual differences and the theory behind human behaviour. 

Sunny has extensive experience in coaching and mentoring with organisations including the Windsor Fellowship, and has previously worked for Goldman Sachs and The Times. She is also often asked by the BBC to feature on the radio as an expert in topics ranging from ethics and identity, to relationships and conformity. Having worked with clients including Microsoft and American Express, she was once described as "able to sell ice to the Inuit".

Sunny is a founding member of CAPP, the Centre for Applied Positive Psychology and also acts as International Director for the Transformative Action Institute, an organisation dedicated to training the next generation of social entrepreneurs with the skills and mentorship needed to succeed.

Dr John Reed (Associate)

 

With a background at UBS Warburg, Dr Reed uses his law and and politics training to great effect in strategy projects.  Having worked closely with the historian and philospher, Professor Theodore Zeldin CBE at the Oxford Muse Foundation, he has become an expert in drawing out life-stories and engaging with people through deep conversation.  John's particular focus is on culture and emotional intelligence.  At Silver Lining, he is a key member of the firm, working across projects and giving big-picture clarity as well as developing training opportunities for the team.

Vicky Lai (Associate)

Having worked as a campaign coordinator for Amnesty International, Vicky has a specific expertise in international relations. In particular she has facilitated political, social and cultural seminars with people from diverse academic and ethnic backgrounds. Vicky is also a published author and award-winning editor. Her multitude of skills served her well when she worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan and for the US Embassy in The Hague. Vicky holds degrees in Political Science and has studied at UCLA, the London School of Economics and the University of Oxford.

Natalie Golding (Associate)

Our resident media expert, Natalie,
has spent time at Channel 4 and with a major national  production company.  After graduating from the London School of Economics, Natalie worked for the Department for Media, Culture and Sport, running a stakeholder management programme for senior officials, including ministers and the permanent secretary.  In addition, using her strengths as a business investment expert, she has consulted for the Office for National Statistics. As a seasoned traveller of South America, Natalie's fluency in French and Spanish also adds an international flavour to our training at Silver Lining.
